Incunabula

The Braidense possesses 2368 incunabula, of which circa 250 were printed in Milan.

As for the manuscripts, some belonged to the old collections, that is to the libraries of Count Carlo Pertusati and of the Jesuits, some other were acquired after the suppression of the religious Congragations, executed by Joseph II and then by Napoleon "per il pubblico bene" (for the people's sake).
