Manuscript Reading Room (Sala Manzoniana)

It contains manuscripts, commented volumes, editions of the works and critical essays concerning the italian romantic writer Alessandro Manzoni:

• around 5,000 correspondance items, of which about 800 autographs
• around 2,500 critical essays
• around 1,000 volumes of valuable editions of Manzoni's works
• around 550 volumes of Manzoni's library, of which 200 commented by himself
• around 200 manuscripts

Nowadays the Manzonian Room is used for the consultation of manuscripts and rare books of the Braidense, the Manzoni Collection and the Ricordi Historical Archives.

It can host about 10 Readers.

The catalogue of the Manzoni Collection is available to the public in the Research reading room.
